A large musical piece on the life of Ambedkar will be screened in Delhi from tomorrow

“Babasaheb: The Grand Musical,” a play about the life of India’s father of the Constitution, BR Ambedkar, is set to screen in Delhi on February 25.

The Mega Show, which will run until March 12 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, will have two shows a day, with the first show starting at 4 p.m. and the second at 7 p.m. daily.

Notably, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had decided to stage the show on Mahaparinirvan Divas and the play was due to start on January 5. However, it was postponed due to the third wave of Covid-19.

Staging for the great musical

With a 100 foot stage and an additional 40 foot revolving platform, dozens of LED screens, digital props, the wonderful and inspiring life of Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar will be portrayed through a grand musical piece which will be a treat for the audience. More than 160 Delhi-based dancers, performers and entertainers will light up the stage.

While the play is directed by theater artist Mahua Chauhan, renowned entertainer Rohit Roy will play the role of Bhimrao Ambedkar. Meanwhile, the Indian Ocean contributed music to the piece.

Considered one of the biggest shows, several AAP executives gave an update on preparations at JLN Stadium before the show aired.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has announced that the grand musical spectacle will be absolutely free for the general public. However, tickets for the mega show will need to be reserved in advance.
