Singers like Kelsie Dolin, Christian Guardino, Luke G Taylor, Mike Parker, Kenedi Anderson, Isaiah Jaay, and Kurtis Bell, among others, are set to make an appearance on the second episode of “American Idol” Season 20. Who is Aaron Westberry?
Aaron Westberry is one of the new contestants for Season 20 of “American Idol.” The talented singer is originally from Greenville and doesn’t stay really active on Instagram, but he did reveal that he auditioned for the new season of “American Idol.” Aaron is a graduate of Eastside High School and has reportedly recently started making music. The 20-year-old crooner apparently didn’t consider music professionally earlier. He describes his music as “papist”. According to reports, Aaron Westberry had given the audition live in Nashville. He performed Sam Hunt’s song “2016” and indie rock band The Band CAMINO’s song “2/14” to pass the main auditions.
In an interview with Greenville Journal, Aaron said, “I only recently started making music.” He continued: “One summer night after work I was listening to this podcast with Morgan Wallen and he was talking about how he got his start on The Voice and I was like ‘well let me try this “. I watched The Voice auditions and had missed them by about a week and went to American Idol and signed up for that. Aaron Westberry sings brightly in the Taylors First Baptist Youth Choir Church. Speaking at his audition, he said: “I feel like it didn’t really strike me how important it is to be on the show and on TV. I’m sure as the air date approaches, it will start to be like “oh my god”.
The second episode of Season 20 of “American Idol” airs on ABC at 8 p.m. ET. The show is expected to air a total of 18 episodes and could end in late May. Auditions for the new season took place in Los Angeles, Austin and Nashville. Online auditions also took place with virtual sessions. While the show’s format will remain the same, a new platinum ticket has been introduced that would allow holders to skip the first day of Hollywood Week.
