New Songs Showcase Anitta’s Versatility, Highlighting Her Global Appeal

While the established hits are good, the new tracks are even better.

“Versions of Me” is pure pop goodness made for radio. The title track could easily be a Dua Lipa hit with 80s synth chords and alto vocals. Yet Anitta conveys her own style on the finished product. The album’s top-selling song, “Versions of Me,” didn’t sacrifice quality to make it happen – a tricky dance in today’s pop music industry.

The album’s second track, “Gata,” brings carefree energy with a feature by Chencho Corleone. In a song made for summer parties, it’s clear that Anitta knows how to have fun. The breakdown during the bridge is unexpected and adds a touch of energy to an already uptempo reggaeton song. “Gata” samples Plan B’s song “Guatauba”.

On “Ur Baby,” featuring Khalid, Anitta gets more opportunities to show off her vocal tone. The flirtatious lyrics tell the story of two people wondering what would happen if they got together. “I swerve to your ways/ Alright, ’cause you like danger/ I see it all in your eyes/ Something I know you just can’t hide.” Khalid and Anitta blend well in a more simplistic melody than the other tracks.

Anitta will ‘show how a Brazilian party is’ on the Coachella stage

There is something irresistible about a confident person. Not fake bravado, showcasing a self-confident type, but someone who truly embraces all that they are with flair and enthusiasm. When Anitta performs, her confidence radiates offstage. On Fridays April 15 and 22, Anitta will become the first Brazilian band to perform on the main stage at Coachella.

Anitta’s goal is to expose people to Brazilian culture. Speaking of “Versions of Me,” she recently said Rotating Magazine, “I love how the album is a mix of different beats, different cultures and different languages.” She continued, “A lot of these songs have a bit of Brazil in their veins, culturally. This is the intention of the album. Give a bit of my culture to other markets and through these mergers I worked.

Anitta is excited about her performance at Coachella and says, “We’re going to dance a lot. We are going to show how a Brazilian party is done. I think people are going to feel that there. I am very happy that people see it and learn about my culture.

Fans can watch Coachella live on YouTube. Anitta will perform Friday, April 15 and 22 at 6 p.m. ET.
