The BTS members are going solo — but don’t worry, they’re not breaking up.
Just days after the release of their anthology album Evidence – released to celebrate the septet’s ninth anniversary – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook shared in a video posted on June 14 that they plan to take a break from group activities in order to that they can all have time to work on personal and solo projects.
Although the time off gives BTS much-needed time to work on their solo endeavors, the group has already given fans a taste of what they are capable of outside of the group. RM, who is the leader of the group and a member of BTS’s rap line (alongside Suga and J-Hope), was the first to release solo material. In 2015, he released a self-titled mixtape via SoundCloud which contained a total of 11 tracks, some of which sampled songs by J. Cole, Drake, Run the Jewels and more.
Suga followed soon after with the arrival of his August D mixtape in 2016, while J-Hope followed in 2018 with world of hope. (RM released a second mixtape, Mono.in late 2018, as Suga released his second tape, D-2, in May 2020). Although Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook don’t have their own mixtapes, they’ve all released solo tracks over the years, which will likely continue during their time away from the group.
Here are all of BTS’s solo projects and songs – not including cover songs, solo tracks released by (or with members of) BTS, or features of songs by other artists.
