Cast ‘Scream’ and where you’ve seen them before

Scream, the fifth entry in the long-running horror franchise, sees the return of the surviving trio who endured 25 years of Ghostface murders, as Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Gale Riley (Courtney Cox) and Dewey Riley (David Arquette) return for another round of slasher antics. But they are not alone.

It’s been over a decade since the last murders, and this latest installment will feature a cast full of new characters with familiar faces. Who are the actors playing the teenagers trying to survive? And who will outsmart the person (or people) causing this bloody chaos to live another day?

The Mexican actress wowed critics with her performance as Vanessa in Jon M. Chu’s 2021 adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical In the heights, who saw her singing talents in the spotlight. Now Barrera will be using his impressive pipes for very different reasons in Scream. Barrera also starred in the drama series Starz Vida and will star in the upcoming musical Carmen.

Playing the cool kid in a plethora of teenage projects got Mason Gooding out of the shadow of his Oscar-winning dad, Cuba Gooding Jr. Gooding first made a name for himself in the hit tube. Booksmart, followed by Hulu Love, Victor. Other credits include the festive Netflix movie Land it’s snowing, Everything will be alright, Picard and Ballerinas.

The Woodsboro High letterman jacket worn by Gooding as Chad suggests this is another popular guy role, a possible sign of his impending demise. His last name connects him to Randy (Jamie Kennedy of the first three Scream movies), which could be a blessing and a curse.

Jenna Ortega, 20, has worked steadily for a decade with regular television roles that include young Jane over five seasons of Joan the Virgin, lead in Stuck in the middle and as Joe’s neighbor, Ellie in season 2 of You. Horror movie Insidious: Chapter 2 marked Ortega’s first thrill with horror. She also appeared in Yes day, The consequences and The babysitter: Killer Queen. Then she plays the title role in the new Netflix series of the Addams family. Wednesday.

In Scream, Tara is Sam’s sister. The trailer suggests that she might not go past the opening credits.

Being covered in fake blood is something Jack Quaid has experienced many times before thanks to his starring role in the hit series Prime Video. The boys. He is another cast member with famous parents (Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid) and has also racked up an impressive resume including The hunger Games, More, HBO period drama Vinyl and dubbing in Star Trek: Lower Bridges.

His acting skills point to a Stu (Matthew Lillard) or Randy type character, so he could go all the way (but also be the killer).

One of the most recognizable new cast members is Dylan Minnette, who recently starred in Netflix. 13 reasons why. The young actor has also appeared in several of the biggest TV shows of the past 10+ years, including Lost, Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, Prison Break and Supernatural. Minnette is also no stranger to the thriller and horror genre, appearing in Prisoners, Let me enter, Don’t breathe, and The open day.

In Scream, he plays the son of Scream 4 Deputy survivor Judy Hicks (Marley Shelton), which puts him in a good position to experience this bloodbath.

Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin

Anyone currently watching Showtime Yellow jackets Brown will recognize as the stubborn teenage version of Taissa. Brown has also appeared on HBO Leftovers, the Freeform series Staplers and Shondaland For the people. She recently launched a podcast in association with Netflix called The gay agenda with Yellow jackets co-starring Liv Hewson.

In Scream, Brown is probably Mason Gooding’s sister Chad. Again, the last name Meeks connects them to Randy – that’s probably why she is suspicious of everyone. That makes her a contender for survival (or maybe she’s the killer).

Kyle Gallner as Vince Schneider

Véronique Mars is a classic teen television show and Gallner played a central role during the first two seasons as Cassidy “Beaver” Casablancas. Ghostface isn’t the first killer he’s faced in horror, as can be seen in The Haunting in Connecticut, Jennifer’s body and the 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street redo. He also had a recurring role in CSI: New York.

Vince gives off some dirt-bag vibes in the trailer, and he’s not on the main poster either (and doesn’t have an individual character poster), which means he’s not long in coming. this world.

Scream marks the Hollywood debut of French model and singer Sonia Ben Ammar. She has appeared in campaigns for a number of Chanel, Miu Miu, Carolina Herrera, and Dolce & Gabbana.

In Scream, she has hair dyed pink and her last name is potentially linked to the McKenzie, who lived next door to the original Screamby Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore).

Mikey Madison as Amber Freeman

In 2019, Madison played the infamous Charles Manson follower, Susan “Sadie” Atkins in the Quentin Tarantino Story. Once upon a time … in Hollywood. Madison’s other major role is as Max Fox in Pamela Adlon’s comedy-drama FX Better things and a guest role in Bravo’s Impostors.

In the Scream trailer, Madison’s character Amber is shown opening a refrigerator which killed Dewey’s sister Tatum (Rose McGowan) in the original film. It’s also Amber who thinks Tara is texting her when the landline rings, which is a worrying sign.
