So many artists, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), collect even more new music we would call “indie” and talk about it. what metal comes out. We post music news, song previews and more all day long. In these concert-free times, that includes daily live broadcasts and live concert videos that we love. We are updating a weekly playlist some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting newly released songs in one place.

BIG FREEDIA – “JUDAS” (LADY GAGA COVER)

Lady Gaga will release a 10th anniversary edition of Born like this on June 18 via Interscope, and it will feature reimaginations of six songs from the album by various artists. One of them is Big Freedia’s fun new version of “Judas”, which is out now. “Judas was my favorite song when it originally came out, so I really wanted to cover it,” Freedia said. “To me, ‘Judas’ is a love song about when someone messes you up. I have surely had my experience with that. Who can’t understand?”

EYEBALL – FIND MY WAY TO HEAVEN WHEN I LEAVE EP

Eyeball has just released this new three song EP, which channels late 90s / early 2000s rock radio through a shoegaze and post-hardcore lens. Fans of everything from failure to Superheaven, take note.

J BALVIN – “Qué Más Pues?” (ft. MARIA BECERRA)

J Balvin in duet with Maria Becerra on this very catchy dose of reggaeton / Latin pop.

EMINEM – “KILLER” (REMIX with JACK HARLOW & CORDAE)

Eminem has released a new remix of “Killer” from Music to be murdered by – Côté B, and the new version includes newly added verses from Jack Harlow and Cordae.

FARRUKO – “LOVE 66” (ft. CJ)

Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Farruko to release new album La167 later this year, and it includes this new single, which features new Staten Island rapper CJ.

BAD BUNNY – “100 MILLONES” (ft. LUAR LA L)

Bad Bunny continues to be incredibly prolific, and he maintains serious quality control as well. This new song is awesome.

TWELVE’LEN – “BROKEN WINGS”

Miami R&B singer Twelve’len to release new album, Sugar Hill Express, later this year, and it will include this very cool and ethereal new song.

NERVOUS TRAPS – “GOOD RACE”

The Asbury Park Nervous Triggers punks are back with this new surfy and garagey ripper. They also play a show in Brooklyn on 8/20 to Our Wicked Lady with Mikey Erg and Crazy & the Brains.

GASP – “THE LESS EXPECTED”

Loud, hardcore Swedish punks Gasp debuted with the ripper “Dragging Through Mud” earlier this year, and they just followed it up with their second song “Least Expected”. Both are awesome. “We want to inspire others, especially women, to pick up an instrument and start playing music, regardless of your age or level of knowledge.” The group says Idioteq.

HUMINOID – PROMO 2021

Paper Wings Records not only released today a terrific 4-way split of Kurama, psyou’redead, Thotcrime and The Queen Guillotined, but they also released this promo from up-and-coming and very modern Indonesian metalcore band Huminoid. If you like the electronics-tinged metalcore of bands like Vein and Code Orange, don’t sleep on it.

MOONSHINE – “ONWARD” (ft. GEORGIA ANNE MULDROW & SANGO)

The Montreal Moonshine Collective has announced a new album, SMS for location Vol. 4, due June 18 via FORESEEN Entertainment. This new single is a groovy collaboration with Georgia Anne Muldrow and Sango.

JESSE ROYAL – “NATTY DREAD”

The new album awaited by the great modern reggae Jesse Royal Royal arrives on 6/11 via Easy Star Records and here is another very promising, very hypnotic song from it.

PRAISE LA PESTE – “BLACKENING SWARM II”

Berlin post-black metalheads Praise The Plague release their third album, The Obsidian Gate, July 30th via Lifeforce Records, and the first single “Blackening Swarm II” is a big and intense thing.

ODDCOUPLE – “WHO I AM GOTTA BE” (ft. ELIJAH BLAKE & MELANIE FAYE)

Hip hop / R & B producer OddCouple’s new album Reflections comes out next week, and here’s another taste of it. It gives a futuristic electronic touch to the R&B of the 90s.

BIGGEST BETTER SUN – “WHEN I NEED MOST”

Bigger Better Sun from New York will release a new album, Adapt to well-being, July 2 via Counter Intuitive, and this new single sounds like a new emo update from the sunny and mighty 2000s.

BLIND EQUATION – “_BLUR”

Blind Equation is called “emotional cybergrind” and is preparing a new album entitled Life is pain for fall 2021. It includes the newly released single “_BLUR” which mixes scintillating synths with abrasive grindcore and a totally downer vibe. It rocks.

CHUBBY AND THE GANG – “THE LEMONS OF LIFE”

Best known for its blisters and punk screams, Chubby and the Gang changes gears on this new 7 “single, delivering that swaying ballad, perfect for dancing slowly under a mirror ball.

DUSTED (BRIAN OF HOLY FUCK) – “THEY DON’T KNOW YOU”

Brian Borcherdt of Holy Fuck is about to come out III, his new solo album under the name Dusted, which will be released on July 3 via Awal. It’s about as far away from Holy Fuck as it gets, with “They don’t know you” more like Chris Isaak than dancerock.

SPARKS, MARION COTILLARD, ADAM DRIVER, – “So we can start”

AnnetteSparks and filmmaker Leos Carax’s longtime rock opera starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, will make its world premiere as the 2021 Cannes Film Festival opening night film. The trailer airs spectacular, and now they’ve shared the movie’s first song, “So May We Start”.

KINGS OF CONVENIENCE – “FEVER”

Kings of Convenience will be released Peace or love, their first album in 12 years, next month, and they’ve now shared a second song from the album. “Fever” is a light and dynamic bossa nova number, enhanced by the elegant piano, violin and signature harmonies of Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe.

JIM BOB (CARTER THE UNSTOPPABLE SEX MACHINE) – “SUMMER WITHOUT TOUCHING”

Former Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine frontman Jim Bob returns with new album Who do we hate today in August. He humorously recounts the summer of 2020 as his first single from the LP.

BERTRAND BURGALAT – “REVE CAPITAL”

These days you don’t get a lot of amazing music videos, the ones that make it seem like more than 10 minutes to think about. But there are still a few, like Kings of Convenience’s “Rocky Trail”. Add to this list Bertrand Burgalat’s mind-blowing video for “Rêve capital”, the title song of his next album.

GULFER – “LOOK” / CHARMER – “DIAMOND (SPRINKLER)”

Two really good emo groups, Montrealer Gulfer and Michigan’s Charmer, have just released a new split on Topshelf, No Sleep and Royal Mountain, and you can read more here.

ACTION NEWS – “GOD DOESN’T SEE UNDER THE EL” & “FAILED STATE”

Action News is a new hardcore group from Philly led by Patrick Troxell (Lovelorn, ex-Creepoid) which also includes members of Jesus Piece, Nothing, Fixation, etc., and they are releasing two ragers from their upcoming debut EP. Find out more here.
