J.Lo’s latest romantic comedy is also one of his most personal films.

This week, the multi-talented performer shared a behind-the-scenes look at her new movie “Marry Me,” starring Owen Wilson, in which she plays a fictional pop superstar.

“The fact that you are a celebrity in the public eye, people feel like they have a right to know everything, but that’s okay, I can have something for myself, right? not ? Lopez said in the video.

In the film, Lopez plays Kat Valdez, a Latin pop star who learns that her partner on stage is having an affair and impulsively decides to marry a stranger, played by Wilson, whom she sees holding up a “Marry Me” sign. by accident at his concert.

“That’s what we wanted to show in this movie, not just the fame but the human being,” Lopez said.

“We see this brilliant life and it looks perfect,” says director Kat Coiro. “But when you look at someone like Jennifer working her butt, really grueling physical and mental labor, always doing something that you see, there’s a huge gap between the fame and the kind of talent that She is.”

Lopez adds that the film explores the question “How do you stay grounded while still living in the public eye as a superstar?” “

In a clip from the film’s closing night, the star told cast and crew, “It struck my heart and I’m so excited I can’t wait for it to come out.”

“Marry Me” hits theaters on February 11, 2022.
