Joe Franklin Conner – Daily Diary

FRANKLIN

Joe Conner, 73, of Franklin, died April 7, 2022 at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.

He was born on August 7, 1948 in Jamestown, Kentucky, to Sam Franklin and Tina Lois (Grider) Conner. Joe is survived by his sons, Luis Miguel Conner and Samuel Joseph “Austin” Conner; five grandchildren, two brothers, Mitchell Bryant Conner and Robbie Dale Conner and two sisters, Sammie Lou Woodall and Sabine Sue Brown. He was preceded in passing by his parents; brother, Mike Conner and niece, Irsila Caudill.

He was a US Army veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam. He received two Purple Hearts; the National Defense Medal; Vietnamese Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Combat Infantry Badge; Air Medal; Marksman’s Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

Joe worked in construction for Conner & Sons for many years.

He was a member of the Franklin American Legion and was an avid poker player.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held Friday, April 15 at 1:00 p.m. at the Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (US 31 North) in Franklin with visitation Friday, April 15 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at funeral home. Interment will be on Saturday, April 16 at Jamestown Cemetery in Jamestown, Kentucky.
