Luis Miguel fans wonder if Cryptic Tweet is a teaser for a new album

Mexican singer and icon Luis Miguel posted a cryptic message on his social media last weekend, prompting fans to wonder if he was working on a new album.

The short video arrived the day after New Years and featured the year “2022…” floating in a golden haze. Miguel’s two million followers on Instagram and 539,000 followers on Twitter were quick to speculate on the significance of the post.

“I want to imagine that this 2022 there is a new album [from ‘El Sol de Mexico’]“, commented a Twitter user.

Another fan was ready to add to his collection of Miguel albums when the mysterious message came through.

The last time Miguel released an album was in 2017. The disc, ¡Mexico Por Siempre!, was the singer’s 20th studio album of his career. It went on to win two Latin Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. It also won the Grammy Award for Best Regional Album of Mexican Music. ¡Mexico Por Siempre! reached No. 1 on Billboard’s US Regional Mexican Albums chart and No. 2 on Billboard’s US Top Latin Albums chart that year.

Before ¡Mexico Por Siempre!Miguel had released a new album every 1-2 years since his first album in 1982. His self-titled album Luis Miguel debuted in 2010 before the seven-year hiatus.

The third and final season of Luis Miguel: the series premiered last October on Netflix. Shortly after the season aired, Miguel took to social media to comment on the show. “The Netflix series is fiction,” he said. tweeted. “It’s not 100% true. It’s based on real facts.”

Maybe Miguel’s ambiguous tweet is his way of teasing a new album. Or maybe it’s just him wishing everyone a happy new year. We’re sure his fans will be on the lookout for more clues in the weeks and months to come.
