M&M’s have been in the news lately. But we’re not here to debate the pros and cons of having go-go boots. No, it’s a different kind of M&M’s story. Going through DesignTAXI, we learned this as a way to celebrate a wide range of popular musicians, from Bowie M&M’s to Kacey Musgraves M&M’s. M&M’s has released four distinct products album art packs. A different album cover by a different musician inspired each of them.
The selected artists represent a wide range of musical genres, cultures, backgrounds and generations. These are not M&M’s you can just taste, but M&M’s you can hear. (Well, metaphorically speaking). You can discover M&M’s new bags inspired by music here:
The yellow M&M depicts the late great David Bowie, wearing the iconic lightning bolt badge on his face. Just like he did on his 1970s album cover sane aladdin.
The green M&M doubles as on a different bag as she holds a paper fan in front of her face. This look pays homage to the country singer Kacey Musgrave’s golden hour, his third studio album.
Finally, a shadow M&M who doesn’t want anyone to know who they are is impersonating R&B singer Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson. better known as HER Which means “to have revealed everything”, by the way. The image is a recreation of the cover of their 2017 debut album.
M&M’s Senior Associate Brand Manager said in a press release that “M&M’s believes that music inspires emotion, which has the power to connect people by helping them see beyond their differences and encourages connection and belonging.” Hopefully, if this branding continues, we’ll see other musical icons get the chocolate treatment in the future. We can think of one or a hundred others who deserve this honor. And many more albums we would like to see honored in the form of M&M’s. For now, we’ll be happy to grab a bag of Bowie M&M’s. Please and thank you.
