Dramatic fanfare and delirious excitement heralded pop superstar George Michael’s Carrow Road appearance in 2007.
The highly anticipated concert on June 12 followed his performance at the first-ever concert held at the new Wembley Stadium the previous weekend.
Pop diva Sophie Ellis Bextor opened the show and won support from the local crowd when she said her outfit for the evening – a green mini dress – was a nod to the Canary Islands strip.
However, for readers who attended, you might recall that his knowledge of the lyrics to On The Ball City was a bit spotty.
Mexican waves swept over the stadium before George took the stage and despite threatening clouds the weather held out for him to unleash a torrent of success for the crowd.
