A Robbie Williams biopic is in the works next year and it will be filmed in Victoria with thousands of locals taking part in the production.
Filming is expected to begin on the biopic, titled Better man, early 2022, according to The music. The greatest showman Director Michael Gracey is directing the film.
It’s a pretty big project: backed by the Victorian government through Film Victoria, Better Man will be one of the biggest films ever to be made on location in Melbourne and in the city’s Dockland Studios.
Australia’s film industry has recently been hit by COVID-19, so Better man comes at the right time. The project is expected to bring in $ 107 million to the Victorian economy, and more than 2,200 local jobs are expected to be created. Up to 2,700 Victorians will also be employed as extras and casuals.

The biopic takes its title from the song of the same name by Williams. “Better Man” was released almost 20 years ago to the day in 2001, the last single from his classic album. Sing when you win. It’s actually only released in Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America. “Better Man” has sold over 35,000 copies, earning gold certification from the Australian Recording Industry Association.
