Serious injuries in the San Miguel accident between a motorcycle and a car

Paso Robles police arrested Dustin Marlow, 36, on suspicion of possessing multiple drugs and an illegal weapon.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a vehicle Saturday night in San Miguel.

California Highway Patrol, other law enforcement agencies and emergency personnel responded to the crash at 805 River Road at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, according to CHP.

The driver of a Honda Civic was making a left turn from Verde Place onto River Road when he had to stop for an oncoming car. In doing so, however, he found himself in the path of the motorcyclist, who was coming from the opposite direction.

The right side of the motorcycle collided with the front of the Civic, throwing the rider into the intersection.

The motorcyclist, Ethan Carroll, 23, of San Miguel, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton.

Honda driver Micah Foster, 21, of San Miguel, was not injured.

River Road was closed at Verde Place until the roadway was clear shortly after 6 p.m.

The CHP is investigating the accident, but drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
