TURNERS FALLS – Eggtooth Productions is hosting an “Immersive, Interactive and Vivid Art Installation” titled “A Happening” at the Shea Theater Arts Center on Friday.

According to producer Sam Perry, the event will bring together 14 Pioneer Valley artists from multiple mediums for “an incredible night of art and intrigue.” Scheduled from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., the festival will feature painting and music, craft vendors, and theatrical and sound installations.

Perry, a multimedia artist, said in a press release that “A Happening” came to fruition as an idea to share his music – especially the work of a multi-project collection that he titled “SVIP” – with the world.

“When closing last year, I created SVIP, an ambient music company without gender boundaries, whose goal is to create a striking atmosphere, transmute the energy in a given space and transport listeners. in another world, ”Perry said. “As the vaccines rolled out and the shows became a reality again, I had an interesting dilemma: How could I best represent my music from SVIP live? ”

Perry said SVIP’s approach to pushing the boundaries justified something unique.

“I realized that to allow listeners to be truly transported the way I wanted, a simple concert would not be enough,” he said. “I brought together artists from all mediums and from across the Pioneer Valley to create an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind, immersive art experience.

The event receives additional support from Cohn & Company, Dean’s Beans Organic Coffee Co., Assets for Artists, Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) and a working capital grant from Valley Creates and the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.

Doors open at the Shea Theater at 6:30 p.m. Members of the public must be vaccinated and must present their vaccination record at the entrance. All artists and guests will be required to wear masks.
