Tickets on sale now for the 2022 Jacksonville Image Awards

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – You can now reserve your place to watch Black History in the making.

The 3rd Annual Jacksonville Image Awards, presented by Porter Firm, will be handed out on Saturday, February 5, and tickets are now available for purchase here.

The Jacksonville Image Awards recognize difference-makers in the African American community, from longtime educators who have found unique ways to reach students or youth by leveraging social media for a real social progress.

An in-person awards ceremony is scheduled at the Lazzara Performance Hall at the University of North Florida. Tickets are on sale until February 4. COVID-19 security measures will be in place and enforced. News4JAX anchors Melanie Lawson and Tarik Minor will host this special event which will include the awards ceremony, a special look at our three Pinnacle Award finalists and live musical performances hosted by one of our Musical Excellence finalists , Meachum Clarke.

The Pioneer Prize: This award recognizes pioneers who inspire others to follow their path to greatness with innovative ideas that challenge the status quo.

  • Finalists: Adrienne Martin, Ben Frazier, Hannah Hall

The “To watch” award: This award recognizes people who set up quickly and have an impact in their field or industry.

  • Finalists: Douglas Bryant, Dr Kimberly Allen, Rebecca Davis

The “Be the change, be yourself” award: This award recognizes people who, after succeeding through thick and thin, herald change and prosperity to improve and enrich the world. They overcome obstacles to show that through hard work and humility societal change is possible.

The award for musical excellence: This award recognizes people for their outstanding musical achievement, having made a huge impact with their creative works that have helped shape the local music scene.

The innovator’s price: This award recognizes people who challenge the norm in a creative way by introducing traditional culture to avant-garde ideas and making a social impact in their respective industries.

The award for excellence in education: This award recognizes outstanding commitment to the academic development and improvement of a system or community with the goal of improving the lives of future generations.

The Pinnacle Prize: This award recognizes those who have achieved professional achievements over a long career and are role models for others to achieve similar success.
