SUMMIT, NJ – Bet you’ve never heard this one before: “Tickets will be sold in sets of 2 to sit in the Performing Arts Garden.” But in the age of the coronavirus, the show will continue – just with precautions.
Summit High School Performing Arts will present “Newsies” in five performances June 2-6 in the Performing Arts Garden at Summit High School. People can also enjoy a pre-recorded performance shown in the SHS auditorium or watch it at home.
All shows are at 8 p.m., except Sunday, June 6 at 7 p.m.
In the Disney musical, the newspaper vendors went on strike in 1899 in New York.
Tickets will be sold in sets of 2 to sit in the Performing Arts Garden and are limited due to COVID social distancing protocols. Prices are $ 50 for two adult tickets and $ 40 for two student / senior tickets. Coinciding with the outdoor performances, a pre-recorded performance will be shown in the SHS auditorium for $ 20 per person. Pre-recorded streaming from home is also available at $ 20 per person / $ 30 per family.
Tickets will be available from May 21 at showtix4u.com/events/hilltopper.
Hilltopper Stage Productions, the non-profit production company of SHS Performing Arts, has launched a fundraiser to help cover expenses related to COVID in an effort to ensure the sustainability of LCJSMS and SHS productions going forward. A contribution does not guarantee a place in the public.
