The Beartrap Summer Festival is more than headliners. Besides the great food and vendors, there is a plethora of musical talent performing on the mountain. Here’s a quick look at the bands and bands at the Beartrap Summer Festival 2021.
Wylie “Crazy Horse” Jones – From the Colorado front range, Wylie Jones is a solo. He’s able to fuse his vocals, bass, guitar, keyboard, and even native wind instruments as part of his live loops. Wylie is her own reggae group. The sound is a tribute to Bob Marley or Jimmy Cliff, but the sound is for you.
Ben Rice – One of the new generations of blues songwriters honor the Beartrap meadow with soul and style. Faithful to the old style of blues but with its modern and unique touch, Ben Rice will put this swing in your step and will put a note of blue in your heart.
That damn sasquatch – Fans of the Adam Sandler movie might recognize the Billy Madison reference. As it was that damn Sasquatch who stole all the lunches on the school trip. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of food and drink on the meadow as the That Damn Sasquatch band perform their assortment of bluegrass, zydeco and country music.
Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts – Don’t ask for any cover of Florida George Line from this outlaw country band. Unless you’re the one who wants to fight. Ryan Chrys was born on a ranch in Montana. This is where her mom taught her to strum a guitar and sing a tune. The fight came naturally.
Lander Volunteer Fire Department Bagpipe Group – The majestic sound of the bagpipes will kick off Day 2 of Beartrap. The morning begins with a tribute to our brave men and women of service. Military, law enforcement, firefighters and first responders are honored by the Lander Volunteer Fire Department Pipe Band.
Lionel young band – Generally, you don’t think of a violin when it comes to blues music. However, Lionel Young did just that. In many ways, he overpowered it. Music and songwriting is an organic process. A pinch of Dixieland, a pinch of Hendrix, a little Coltrain, and we’re bound to have some magic in Beartrap Meadow.
Félix and Los Gatos – When it comes to blues, there are many styles, from delta blues to boogie-woogie. Felix y Los Gatos from New Mexico bring Zydetejano’s blues to Beartrap. It’s their unique blend of Latin flair, traditional blues, New Orleans Zydeco, and outlaw country. It ranges from heartwarming ballads to swaying rockabilly groves. Like a good batch of green peppers, Felix y Los Gatos will bring the heat.
Ghost Town Blues Band – Rolling like tumbleweeds and bringing sound like thunder, the band Ghost Town Blues will take the stage on Sunday afternoon. It’s a bit of southern rock and a lot of blues. In 2019, their album “Shine” debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Blues charts. This is not your typical blues band.
